University Health

Learn about University Health and their role as a Masonic Cancer Alliance Clinical Research Partner.

University Health is an academic medical center providing quality healthcare to the Kansas City community and beyond, for those with the very best insurance and those with no insurance at all.

University Health doctors, in affiliation with the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC), teach the doctors of the future. They stay ahead of medical advances, providing innovative instruction to students and cutting-edge care to patients. Being an academic medical center, University Health takes the toughest cases, so our healthcare providers can handle whatever you bring us.

The Richard & Annette Bloch Cancer Center at University Health is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancers. Our cancer team includes oncologists, infusion nurses and surgeons—all of whom are trained in the latest advanced diagnostic and cancer treatment options. Many of our cancer doctors are also board-certified in multiple specialties, giving them a wide range of expertise.

The cancer center at University Health treats all types of cancer, both hematologic and solid malignancies (lung, breast, colon, etc.) while taking a team approach to treatment. Our doctors and nurses work together with palliative care professionals, physical therapists and nutritionists to provide well-rounded and personalized cancer care to everyone we serve.

University Health understands the power of personal connection. Compassion is part of everything we do. Our support team includes patient navigators and nurse care managers to financial counselors, clinical psychologists, music therapists and more.

Cancer Center Amenities and Services

In addition to receiving high-quality care, we want patients to have a welcoming space where they can feel comfortable. Some of the ways we provide that are by offering:

  • Free parking with close proximity to an elevator that goes directly to the Cancer Center foyer.
  • Private and semiprivate spaces in infusion center, offering patients the choice between quiet during treatment or conversing with other patients. Drinks and snacks are also available during infusion through our nourishment center.
  • On-site boutique with mastectomy supplies, large selection of wigs and other personal items.
  • Access to resource library.

In addition, we offer specialized services you won't find everywhere. Our breast center helps people with an increased risk of breast cancer, and our biospecimen repository empowers patients to support cancer research by donating tissue and blood samples.

Cancer care at University Health brings new hope to patients by combining cutting-edge technologies with compassionate care.
