Children’s Mercy Kansas City
Learn about Children's Mercy Hospital and its role as a member of the MCA Partners Advisory Board.
Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics is a comprehensive pediatric medical center that is the only free-standing children's hospital between St. Louis and Denver. CMH is consistently ranked among the leading children's hospitals in the nation and was the first hospital in Missouri or Kansas to receive the prestigious Magnet designation for excellence in patient care from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. CMH provides state-of-the-art care for children from birth to age 18 who come from throughout Missouri and Kansas and beyond.
In addition to the clinical expertise provided by CMH's pediatric specialists, Children's Mercy is also a leader in providing pediatric medical education to the physicians and nurses of the future and in conducting cutting-edge pediatric medical research to discover the treatments and cures of tomorrow. And Children's Mercy is nationally recognized for innovation in creating a family-centered environment that is focused on the unique needs of hospitalized children and their families.
Back in 2010, Rob Riggle called fellow Shawnee Mission graduates Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis with an idea. "Let's host a poker tournament to raise money for Children's Mercy."
Since then, the guys and other celebrity guests have raised more than $12 million through sponsorships, a live auction and an online fundraising campaign. The entire event is planned and supported by the volunteer efforts of the family, friends and the help of Children's Mercy staff, keeping expenses to a minimum and dollars directly to the kids at a maximum.
